Cornelia Avenue Southern Baptist Church ministers to the “west side” of Fresno, as well as Kerman, CA. We are looking for a worship intern who can come alongside our worship leader for the ministry of Sunday morning services. We have three requirements for the person: (1) the candidate must be able to sing, (2) the candidate must be able to play guitar, (3) the candidate must have a teachable spirit. We have two requirements of the candidate’s schedule: (1) he or she must attend Thursday night rehearsals and (2) he or she must serve in both Sunday morning services (9:00 and 10:30 AM, usually ending around 12:15 PM).

The worship leader is musically educated and can train the candidate to improve in any area, but the candidate must begin the position with those three requirements. This is a paid internship, with pay commensurate to the skills of the candidate and a possibility for growth over time.

The intern will be expected to play in the Sunday morning services, to lead one or more songs in each service, and to lead the Sunday morning music ministry overall approximately once every 6 weeks. The intern is NOT expected to do planning, volunteer recruitment, or generally training others in the ministry at this time. (Should the position grow to incorporate additional duties, pay will increase with that growth.)

The intern reports to the worship leader directly, and then to the senior pastor, with a general accountability to the deacon body.

Please do contact us with any questions you have about the position.
