Children’s Minister 485 views1 application

The Children’s Minister position is currently designed as part-time with an intent to expand to a Minister to Children and Families (fulltime) in the near future. Currently, the primary responsibility of the position is to plan and coordinate a comprehensive program for the preschool and children’s ministry of the church. This program should undergird the spiritual, emotional, and social development of children as it relates to their becoming and growing as Christians.

Specific duties of the Children’s Minister include:
-Organize and lead activities for children (birth through 5th grade) which constitute quality Christian education.
-Plan, promote, and conduct exciting activities for children including retreats, Vacation Bible School, and recreational activities.
-Develop relationships with children and their families.
-Develop and administer an annual budget that reflects the priority of Christian education for children.

As the position transitions to a Minister to Children and Families, new duties related to growing families in their spiritual walk with Christ will be added.

The successful candidate for this position will preferably hold a four year undergraduate degree as well as at least some Divinity School preparation. However, an individual currently completing a degree who feels a strong call to this type of ministry and is open to continuing their education is encouraged to apply. All candidates should possess a passion for children and an understanding of family dynamics. A loving a patient heart, along with organizational and leadership skills, are also strongly desired.
