Overview

Join the staff of Restoration Church, Centerville, Ohio as the paid, full-time Director of Student Ministries, you will cast vision with and assist the Lead Pastor by developing disciples beginning with our student ministry.

Part of this role includes approaching your work from a pastoral mindset. Such as (but not limited to): preaching, theological discussion, funerals, visitations, and other pastoral needs.

Education & Experience:

-Bachelor’s Degree in related field (or sufficient experience). -Demonstrated experience in multiple-staff management and organization. -Experience in a setting where discipleship takes place.
-Knows how to build a successful team.

-Understanding of the long-term approach that has to happen in order to accomplish deep discipleship. Must be willing to be a system builder.

Major Responsibilities:

Ministry

– Partner with the Lead Pastor and the Children’s and Family Ministry Director to ensure a culture of discipleship that includes life groups as well as multiplication.
-Support & develop discipleship systems so that everyone in the community can reach out and begin to disciple someone else. This includes but not limited to; Jr. and Sr. High Ministry and a partnership with the Children’s Ministry so that children are transitioned from children’s ministry to involvement in youth ministry.

– Perform pastoral responsibilities as needed, including; preaching, anointing of the sick, funerals, and theological reflection.
-Able to provide vision and direction for all aspects of disciple making with our students. – A desire to engage the larger Centerville community and interact with other local organizations.

-A demonstrated passion and commitment to the spiritual growth of all people.
-Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to motivate, inspire, equip and encourage staff as well as adult servants.
-Pastoral heart for ministry with core value of confidentiality.
-Ability to work as part of a larger “get it done” church staff team.

Management

-Coordinate with the team to ensure phone calls, emails, etc. receive a prompt and appropriate response.
– Use apps like Slack, Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram to communicate the needs with the team as well as the church family.
-Work with the team to ensure announcements, newsletters and mailings, purchase orders, and other communication/administrative projects proceed as needed.
-Oversee the department budget process and expenditures for youth ministry.
-Any additional duties as needed or directed pertinent to the position by the Lead Pastor.
