About Parkview Baptist Church
In August 2020 we said goodbye to our retiring Senior Pastor of 20 years, Dr. Gregory Magruder. We are so thankful for his bold, thorough, encouraging preaching, his steady leadership, and his tender pastoral care for our congregation and the community around us. May the Lord bless him and his family as he has been such a precious blessing to us.
We are known for our friendly welcoming atmosphere. Our membership is open to everyone regardless of race or cultural background. Our lay led worship is a blended mix of contemporary and traditional music. During the pandemic we are temporarily using recorded music from Lifeway Worship for our livestream as a precaution. Before the pandemic, our worship attendance was 50-70. Currently, a small group worships in person, following Covid precautions, and others follow our livestream and attend small groups through Zoom and phone meetings. We look forward to worshipping together again soon.
Our history includes taking a lead in civil rights issues in the 1960s, and welcoming women into ordained leadership. We are a mostly middle aged to senior congregation, but we make up a solid faithful core. In the years ahead we will continue to support the work of the Kingdom as we are able, with our prayers, abilities, and finances.
We support local and international missions and the ministries of local community groups. We are affiliated with the Florida and the National Cooperative Baptist Fellowship, the Southern Baptist Convention, the Florida Baptist Convention, and the North Central Florida Baptist Convention. Our Statement of Faith is based on the Baptist Faith and Message (1963).
